Curriculum Plan
See Attachments below for Curriculum Maps. Please note that this map is a guide, so we may be working ahead or behind the intended schedule.

Teaching Philosophy
My philosophy of education is to provide a balanced learning environment which is nurturing and structured. During the course of the school year, I will challenge each student and watch them grow to their full potential. Through positive educational experiences a love of learning will be fostered in each student.

Classroom Management
The most important aspect of a classroom is to learn. In order to maximize learning, rules and procedures must be implemented. This year, we will be focusing on positive reinforcement in order to encourage Islamic behavior. This will be done by using a marble jar and marbles.  Any time a student or the entire class is exemplifying good behavior and is complimented by a teacher, principal, or other adults, we will put a marble in the jar.  When we reach a certain amount of marbles, we will have a “Compliment Party” to celebrate their accomplishment.

Classroom Rules:

1. Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself.

2. Follow the teacher’s directions and school rules.

3. Raise your hand to speak – no blurting out.

4. Be on time and do your work on time.

5. Be a good Muslim.

We will also be using the behavior pin system, where students will move up levels for good behavior and following the rules, and down for not following the rules.  All students will start the day on ‘smiley face.’

Incentives for Good Behavior:

*Verbal praise

*Treasure box

*Compliment party
